In the old beautitul Castle of Ripa d’Orcia (XIII sec.), set upon a rise in the centre of Orcia Valley, thanks to a skillful work of renovation, there is nowadays a comfortable country Residence with rooms and apartments ideal for relaxing stays. Ripa d’Orcia with its splendid location, offers tourists who want to visit the beautiful cities of art in Tuscany, Umbria and Northern Latium an ideal place to start.
Nowadays the Estate covers an area of 320 hectares (around 800 acres), 6 hectares of which are dedicated to vineyards all around the Castle and about 10 hectares of specialized olive trees located in the area of S. Quirico d’Orcia.
Recently the ancient wine-cellar has been converted into a tasting room where small groups, on appointement, can taste the Estate production of Orcia Wines and Extra virgin Olive Oil.

In the historic houses which have comprised the Borgo, from 1990 there are eight large apartments (self-catering, residence type, 45/75 sqm large), which are composed by large living room with cooking facilities, open fireplace, one or two double rooms, private bathroom/shower, sitting room, panoramic views, safe, indipendent heating, terrace (apts. N. 5 and 6), rustic furniture in tuscan style In addition, inside the ancient village, there are six comfortable and characteristic double bedrooms with cotto floors and beamed ceilings, rustic tuscan furniture, all with private bathrooms/shower. The little restaurant of Ripa d’Orcia is open every night but mondays: the menu’ lets you taste some simple tuscan dishes along with the Estate’s wines. An unkept parking area is available outside the outer walls.

La Fattoria di Ripa d'Orcia gets its name from the Castle of Ripa d'Orcia which has been the heart of the farm since the 13th century. In 1484 the farm was acquired by the noble Sienese family, Piccolomini, who are the present owners.
On its 300 hectares the fattoria has been producing fine wines and superb extra virgin olive oil for centuries combining the family traditions with modern methods of production. It is possible to purchase the farm produce.
Restaurant: We offer excellent meals for our guests: various typical Tuscan dishes.
Banquet room: Banquet hall seating max 60 persons.
Bike Rental: bicycles can be rented in S. Quirico D'Orcia.
Swimming Pool: from June 2007, a panoramic swimming pool with views on the "Gole dell'Orcia" is available for our guests.

Coming from North (Bologna-Firenze). Highway A-1 exit ‘Firenze-Certosa’ : follow the signs to Siena up to the exit ‘Siena Sud’. Drive onto the SR 2 (SS-2 Cassia) to Roma - Monteroni d’Arbia – Buonconvento – S. Quirico d’Orcia – Castello di Ripa d’Orcia. From A-1 exit estimated time: 1 and half hrs.
Coming from East (Umbria). Coming from Perugia follow the signs to highway A-1 to Firenze up to the exit ‘Bettolle-Valdichiana’. Drive through Bettolle and then follow the signs to Torrita di Siena – Pienza – S. Quirico d’Orcia – Castello di Ripa d’Orcia. From the exit ‘Bettolle-Valdichiana’ estimated time: 1 hr.
