Castel Bigozzi, one of the oldest embattled castles of this area, rises on the land of Strove. In the Middle Ages this castle belonged to the ancestors of the old and noble Montanini family. Its coats of arms well recounts its history: a red shield, like the land that surrounds it, a black lion, symbol of courage and battles, glory and defeats. Historical chronicles in fact report that is was a place of refuge and protection for Ghibelline troops. How to reach the Relais Castel Bigozzi

By car From Rome: from the A1 highway drive in the direction of Firenze and exit Val di Chiana. Follow the indications to Siena (SGC Siena-Bettolle) and then continue towards Firenze. After around 9.3 miles/15 km, exit Monteriggioni and then follow the indications to Strove. From Firenze Certosa: from the A1 highway take Fi-Si motorway and exit Monteriggioni. Then continue following the directions to Strove.
