By car GPS coordinates GPS: 43° 19.163'N; 11° 20.450'E Coming from the North Take the A1 motorway in the direction FIRENZE - ROMA and exit at FIRENZE CERTOSA. Follow the signs for the "superstrada" FIRENZE - SIENA. Take the "superstrada" to Siena and exit at SIENA NORD. Having passed the railway station ("Stazione Ferroviaria"), follow the signs for PORTA OVILE and there you will see the signs for PORTA PISPINI and the HOTEL IL GIARDINO. Coming from the South Take the A1 motorway in the direction FIRENZE - BOLOGNA and exit at VALDICHIANA - SIENA (Pay attention as this exit is signposted only once). Stay on this road for about 40 km until you reach the outskirts of Siena. Follow the sign on your left for PORTA PISPINI and then for HOTEL IL GIARDINO.By train There are direct railway connections to Siena from Florence and Empoli (daily services, one train every hour), from Grosseto (a train every two hours), and from Chiusi/Chianciano Terme. If you're travelling up from Naples/Rome/Orvieto, we advise you to change at Chiusi, or if you're travelling down from Milan/Bologna/Venice/Turin, our advice is to change at Florence. And finally, those travelling from Pisa/Pisa Airport are advised to change at Empoli. Siena railway station is situated outside the town centre and is served by taxis (you can ring RadioTaxi at 0577/49222) or you can take a city bus in the direction of Porta Pispini.
